This is how it all began…
Did you know…
In a lot of cases one of the parents, or the single parent, has to stop working to care for their child. This usually means a decrease in income if not a complete stop of money coming into the household.
Bills begin to pile up and the stress increases as the parent tries to keep ahead of the bill collectors while still taking care of their sick child.
This is where the RMCCF steps in and helps the family with the burden of making their monthly payments like… mortgage, electric bill, heat, car payment, gas, etc.
Our teams are trained to step in, make a decision, and move quickly to help ease some of the financial stress families find themselves in at this devastating time in their life.
We have assisted people within hours of being contacted with things like bringing their utility bill current so the power isn’t shut off.
Our goal is to help give the family some stability back into their lives by helping them catch up on late and overdue bills. We’re committed to serving the community.
We believe in giving a hand-up and never a hand-out.
Your contributions and gifts are fueling our work to provide hope and comfort to families struggling with their child who has cancer here in the Denver area. Thanks for visiting our website. Please consider making a donation or joining our foundation today.
Here’s How We Started Out
The Rocky Mountain Childhood Cancer Foundation was started by a group of doctors and hospital administrators from Presbyterian/St Luke’s Hospital Denver, Colorado in 2000.
Today the foundation relies on 100% volunteers and donations from individuals and different fund raising events throughout the year. With the help of Dr. Tom Smith and his office staff, who are part of Children’s Hospital and specialize in Childhood Hematology Oncology.
About the Foundation
The Rocky Mountain Childhood Cancer Foundation is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization that assists families in dealing with the unexpected and at times overwhelming emotional and financial stresses of childhood cancers.
Not only does the RMCCF provide financial assistance to families to help offset both medical and living expenses, but it also partners within the community to help negotiate free and reduced expenses.
